Very few can evade the glaring eyes of India’s traffic police and Parthiv Patel was definitely not one of them. Well, Parthiv could have avoided an unwanted confrontation with the cops but he could not since the cops were on the road just to catch him. But before you get it all wrong, let me tell you it was nothing but a prank played with the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman.

It all happened in 2003 when Patel was new to the cricketing world and ‘MTV Bakra’, a show on MTV, was one of the most popular shows in the country for pulling pranks on not just common citizens but also some eminent personalities. Who can forget the famous prank when Rahul Dravid was also duped with a proposal from a girl. The episode was absolutely hilarious and so was Parthiv being tricked by traffic police.

The prank began when Parthiv was requested by a taxi driver to drive the four-wheeler as he was having a pain in his chest. However, he ran into the fabricated trouble when a couple of actors posing as traffic inspectors stopped him. The cops then began asking him several questions before telling him that he was not eligible to drive the car since he was just 17 despite the batsman producing his driving license. Parthiv was eventually allowed to go but not before a hilarious punishment.

Parthiv even tried to solve the matter by giving the fine to the cops but it did not let him off the hook as he ended up following the fake cop’s instructions.
