Ahead of the much-anticipated clash against Pakistan, India skipper Rohit Sharma has come up with a heartwarming gesture for some Pakistan fans in Dubai. India and Pakistan will open their campaign in Asia Cup 2022 by locking horns against each other on Sunday (August 28). India and Pakistan are placed in Group A along with Hong Kong.
The continental championship is scheduled to begin on Saturday (August 27) with a clash between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are placed in Group B. The top two teams from each group will make it to the Super 4s. In the Super 4s, all the teams will play against each other once before the top two teams qualify for the final, scheduled to take place on September 11.
Rohit Sharma’s gesture for Pakistan fans:
Ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash, Rohit Sharma decided to come up with a heartwarming gesture for some Pakistani fans. The India batting superstar was training with some Pakistani fans watching him from outside the ground. Rohit Sharma then decided to walk up to them and greet them. The fans also came running towards the right-handed batsman.
He crossed the fence and as he was making his way towards the fans, they were heard saying: “Thank you Rohit bhai”. Rohit shook hands with a couple of fans before one of them asked for a hug from the other side of the fence. And to everyone’s surprise, Rohit duly obliged with a smile on his face.

Meanwhile, India are the defending champions of the continental championship and would be looking to begin their title defence with a win. In the previous edition, they had defeated Pakistan twice on their way to lifting the trophy.
