Watch: Shannon Gabriel Clean Bowls Ben Stokes Twice In Three Balls 1

Before the start of the ongoing Test series in England, Windies speedster Shanon Gabriel had shown his weakness in the warm-up game against Derbyshire. With less than a week remaining for the series-opener, Gabriel had given the tourists a big headache by bowling a staggering 20 no-balls in just nine overs. He was not included in the first Test at Edgbaston but returned to the playing eleven in the following match after Jason Holder & Co. were thrashed by an innings and 209 runs.

Gabriel did well in the first innings as he did not deliver a single no-ball but a no-ball followed it in the second innings. However, his 6-wicket haul in the match helped him to retain his place in the team, but the no-ball problem once again came back to haunt him when he clean bowled England star Ben Stokes but fortunately made amends for it two balls later by castling the all-rounder again.

The dramatic incident happened in the 39th over of the England’s first innings in the ongoing third Test at Lord’s. England were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 63 for five, but a half-century from Stokes helped them to go past Windies’ first inning total of 123. And with Stokes looking in ominous form with the bat, Gabriel managed to clean him up on the fourth ball of the over only to see the umpire adjudging it a no-ball. However, two balls later, the right-arm pacer breached Stokes’ defence with an angled delivery.

Here is a clip of that dramatic incident:
