India fast-bowler Shardul Thakur recently tied the knot with his girlfriend Mittali Parulkar. He became the third well-known face from the Indian team after KL Rahul and Axar Patel to get married this year.
The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Abhishek Nayar, and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma were present at the Sangeet ceremony that took place on Sunday. Video clips from the ceremonies did not take long to go viral as Shardul was seen dancing and singing his heart out on the special day.
Shardul Thakur’s cute message for his wife:
A couple of days after the wedding, another adorable moment from Shardul Thakur’s wedding ceremony has gone viral where he has praised his wife Mittali Parulkar’s beauty with a poem that only a cricketer could compose.
In the video, the lovebirds could be seen in the traditional wedding attire. With his wife standing beside him, Shardul Thakur came up with the poem in Marathi which roughly translates to: “Bowling takto quick, run pan dhawli quick, Mittali Aamchi, sundarte che pratik” (the rough translations of the lines are: I bowl fast. I score fast. And my Mittali, is an epitome of beauty).
Husbands reciting poems for their wives is a part of the Marathi wedding and is known as ‘Ukhana’. And going by Mittali’s reaction to Shardul’s poem, one can say that she was mighty impressed.
Here is a clip of the adorable moment:

Following the ODIs, he will take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) where he will ply his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time in his career.
