Watch: Shardul Thakur’s Stunning Catch To Dismiss Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant had a stunning start to this year’s Indian Premier League. In Delhi Capitals’ first game of the season which was against Mumbai Indians, he had blazed away to a 27-ball 78 not out to propel Delhi to 213 for 6 after being put into bat. The hard-hitting batsman smashed seven fours and many maximums during his demolition act. Not a single bowler was spared by Pant even his India teammate Jasprit Bumrah – one of the best bowlers in the world right now.
Well, Pant was looking in the same mood in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Fresh off his belligerent knock against Mumbai Indians, the southpaw started in the same manner on a pitch where others were struggling to time their shots. He hit a couple of fours before hitting a six off Harbhajan Singh to get into groove.
With Pant looking in his elements, the Super Kings needed something special to get rid of him and the moment of brilliance was provided by Shardul Thakur. Before Pant could inflict more damage, Thakur pulled off a superb catch to send him back. On the second delivery of the 16th over, Pant flicked Dwayne Bravo beautifully towards deep square leg. It looked like the ball would land safely but Thakur ran swiftly to his right and completed a fine catch to end Pant’s cameo.
Here is a clip of that catch from Thakur to dismiss Rishabh Pant:

Delhi, meanwhile, will be hoping for a final flourish from their remaining batsmen as they had scored just 120 runs at the time of Pant’s departure.
