Cricket fans across the globe absolutely adore MS Dhoni. The former India skipper’s inspirational journey in the game has made him a fan favourite. And it would not be wrong to say that the people of Chennai love him even more. Dhoni is arguably the most popular player in the city and the reasons are obvious. Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful teams in the history of Indian Premier League and Dhoni has played a huge role in it.
The 37-year old is with the franchise since 2008 barring the two seasons he played for Rising Pune Supergiant after the Chennai-based franchise was suspended in 2015. And right from the very first season, Chennai Super Kings have delivered consistently under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
Last tear, Dhoni’s stardom in Chennai would have only grown after he led the team to the third IPL title. There were apprehensions all around that the Super Kings would struggle to replicate their past success in the comeback season. Two-year absence, team full of players aged over 30, home venue shifted but in the end nothing could stop Chennai Super Kings from concluding their comeback season in a fairy-tale manner. They beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final to lift the title. The win also made them only the second team after Mumbai Indians to win the IPL title thrice.

And on Sunday, we once again saw just how much the fans in Chennai love Dhoni.
The stadium was filled with fans just for a practise game. This is when a fan entered the ground to give Dhoni a hug. He, however, was in for a big surprise as Dhoni was in a playful mood and made the fan chase him all around. The officials then caught hold of the fan before Dhoni walked up to him, said something and resumed practise.
Here is the clip of that hilarious moment:

Recently, Dhoni had done the same when a fan ran into the ground to hug him. The incident had occurred during the ODI series against Australia. At that time too, Dhoni had made the fan chase him before eventually giving him a hug.
