The ongoing first Ashes Test at Edgbaston has lived up to the expectations. The first four days of the game saw exhilarating contest between England and Australia and the game is now all set for a thrilling finish.
On the very first day of the Test, England stunned the cricketing world by declaring their innings on 393 for 8. They batted less than 80 overs before declaring their innings. For the home side, their former captain Joe Root starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 118.
In reply, Australia recovered from 67 for 3 to post 386 thanks to opener Usman Khawaja’s sublime knock of 141 runs. In the second innings, England scored 273 runs to set Australia a target of 281 runs. In reply, the visitors ended day four on 107 for 3.

England crowd taunts Steve Smith:
As the players were busy fighting it out on the field, the fans in the stands also made sure to play their part. The crowd has been receiving praise from all over for the way it has behaved so far. The crowd has been really proactive and one player who would admit it is none other than Australia star Steve Smith.
The crowd at the famous Hollies stand did it best to unsettle the Australian players. On the fourth day, they were heard telling Steve Smith: “We saw you cry on the telly.”
The England fans were referring to Steve Smith’s emotional breakdown when banned for his part in Australia’s sandpaper scandal.

Meanwhile, Smith has had a forgettable outing in the first Ashes Test. The right-handed batsman failed to score big in either of the innings, registering scores of 16 and 6.
