Ace India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has posted an encouraging video on his Instagram account as he recovers from his back surgery which he had earlier this year. Considered to be one of the best bowlers of recent times, the Gujarat pacer has been out of action since September 2022.

Bumrah had complained of back pain during the England tour in July 2022 and came back home to rehab in NCA. He then played two T20Is against Australia in September and it was revealed that Bumrah sustained a stress reaction to his back.

This led to him missing the Asia Cup 2022, the T20 World Cup 2022, and the Australia Test series at home early this year. There were signs of him recovering well, but setbacks happened and he had to miss the IPL 2023 as well, where he was supposed to pair with Jofra Archer for the Mumbai Indians.

In order to keep Bumrah healthy for the 2023 ODI World Cup, which starts in October of this year, the team’s medical staff reportedly has labored hard.

Before this, videos circulated on social media of Bumrah bowling in full tilt in nets at the NCA, upping the hopes of his fans for a return to the Indian team. In his absence, India failed to win both the Asia Cup 2023 and the T20 World Cup 2023.

It is also generally anticipated that he will be included in the Indian team for their next three-match T20I series in Ireland, and on Tuesday, Bumrah all but confirmed it.
