May 9, 2022 at 2:03 PM
There is absolutely no stopping Dinesh Karthik in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has looked like a man on a mission in the current season. Karthik has once again showed his finishing potential with the bat by constantly delivering for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Before the start of the season, Karthik was a forgotten man in the cricket circles. He has not played for India since 2019 and his poor form with the bat in the last IPL meant his name was hardly discussed in the cricketing fraternity.
Karthik, however, has once again proved his critics wrong with his stunning displays in the ongoing season. On Sunday (May 8), he once again made a big impact with the bat for RCB. When Karthik came out to bat, only 10 balls were left with RCB’s score being 158 for 3. At that stage, it looked like they would not score more than 170-175. However, Karthik had some other plans. The in-form batsman took the SRH bowlers to the cleaners and slammed 30 runs off just 8 balls to propel his team to 192 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs.
His cameo was studded with 4 sixes and a four. Such was the performance from Karthik that even Virat Kohli could not control himself from bowing down in front of his teammate. When Karthik entered the dressing room after his cameo, Kohli was seen bowing down in front of him before hugging him. Before that Kohli was also seen clapping and cheering for Karthik as the latter set the stage on fire one more time.
