Watch – Virat Kohli Takes A Stunning Catch To Dismiss Colin Munro

The Indian captain Virat Kohli is a livewire on the field. Kohli took two catches in the second T20I against New Zealand in Auckland on Sunday. The Indian skipper took a simple catch when Martin Guptill could not clear mid-off when he decided to go big against Shardul Thakur on the last ball of the powerplay overs. Kohli got another chance when Colin Munro looked to clear the in-field on the off-side.
However, the southpaw batsman could not get his timing right as the bat moved in his hands. Ergo, Munro spooned a catch to Virat Kohli, which the Indian captain took while diving forward from the cover region.
India was at its best again.
In fact, Kohli bungled a simple catch of Ross Taylor on the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. The gun fieldsman tried to catch with his fingers pointing upwards but got his hands in front of his eyes, which blocked his vision. Kohli and Bumrah could not believe it and exchanged wry smiles after the drop. The Indian captain also showed his frustration as he almost ended up giving overthrow runs with his wild throw.
Apart from that blip, India was better in the field as likened to the first T20I. The tourists have taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match series as they once again got the better off New Zealand by seven wickets and even had 15 balls to spare.
Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the Indian bowlers as the southpaw spinner snared two wickets and conceded only 18 runs in his four overs quota.
KL Rahul continued his dream form going as the flamboyant batsman scored 57 runs to bring up his 11th T20I fifty. Shreyas Iyer gave good support to Rahul after India lost the early wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Iyer scored 44 from 33 balls and added 86 with Rahul.
The third T20I will take place at Hamilton on 29th January.
