Virat Kohli,is rarely seen smiling on the field especially when his team is in a tight position. The ever-energetic India skipper wears his heart on the sleeves and loves to show the aggressive side of his personality. He, however, found a reason to smile on Saturday just moments before his side Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered an embarrassing defeat against Chennai Super Kings in the tournament-opener.
The incident occurred in the 18th over when the Super Kings were 70 for 3, needing just one more run to win the game. Debutant Shivam Dube was bowling to Ravindra Jadeja. On the second delivery of the over, Jadeja had gone for a pull shot but missed it. With not much bounce and pace in the pitch, a pull shot was more or less impossible. However, Jadeja learnt little from the previous delivery and went for a pull shot again on the third delivery.
And this time around, the ball went on to hit him on the ribs, much to Kohli’s delight who could not help but smile. The RCB skipper could not control his laughter before putting his palm on his face to hide the grin.
Here is a clip of that incident:

Talking about the game, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a heavy seven-wicket defeat after being all out for a paltry 70.
Asked to bat first, the Royal Challengers Bangalore struggled right from the word go. Virat Kohli, was the first wicket to fall when he perished while going for a big shot. The likes of Moeen Ali, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer and Shivam Dube failed to get going too as the Royal Challengers found themselves 5 down for just 45.

At one stage it looked like they would not even cross the 50-run mark but opener Parthiv Patel waged a lone battle, scoring 29 before becoming the last wicket to fall. For the Super Kings, Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir starred with the ball, picking up three wickets apiece.
