Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a stunning campaign in the recently-concluded season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The highly-rated batsman has truly announced his arrival on the big stage by delivering a memorable performance for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023.
Such was his performance this season that he managed to outshine and outperform his illustrious opening partner Jos Buttler. The left-handed batsman smashed 625 runs in 14 innings at a brilliant strike-rate of 163.61. He hit one century and 5 fifties this season including a 13-ball fifty that is the fastest half-century in the history of the IPL.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was adjudged the Emerging Player of the Season for his brilliant performance. And that was not the only reward for his brilliant displays. He also found a place in India’s squad as a back-up opener for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final against Australia. The uncapped batsman replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad in the squad. Gaikwad will miss the clash as he is set to get married this week.
Yashasvi Jaiswal impresses in nets:
While Yashasvi Jaiswal is unlikely to get a chance in the playing eleven for the upcoming match against Australia, he has surely managed to make a mark with his batting in the nets. The ICC, on Wednesday (May 31), posted a video of the batsman’s net session on social media and one can say that it was highly impressive.
Jaiswal was up against his senior India teammate Ravichandran Ashwin and a few net bowlers and looked really impressive. The net session had everything as Jaiswal unleashed his wide array of shots in his first-ever training session with Team India. After the session ended, he was seen talking to Virat Kohli and taking tips from his senior teammate.
