No other team has won the Indian Premier league three times other than Mumbai Indians and all the times under one captain Rohit Sharma. He was appointed the captain of the franchise in 2013, and he won the league in the very first season of his captaincy.

Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in the Indian Premier League as he has led the Mumbai based franchise to three IPL titles in 2013, 2015 and 2017. And there is no doubt why he is so successful as a captain as he values his players a lot.

Sharma believes New Zealand bowler Mitchell McClenaghan who was just brought in to the squad will be a great asset to the team.

McClenaghan who has played for Mumbai Indians in the previous three editions of the IPL remained unsold in the recent IPL auctions.

However, a back injury to Australia’s Jason Behrendroff opened up the gates for the McClenaghan to feature in the upcoming IPL.

Mumbai Indians skipper is more than happy about the Kiwi’s inclusion to the squad. He said:

“He (McClenaghan) is a great asset and he has been a performer for us. Due to some mishap during the IPL auction, we were not able to get him. But now we have got him and we are very excited to have him back. He has been a great performer for us.”

“We have had success whenever he has performed for us and it will be good to have him back. We know his capability with the ball and I hope he repeats the same performances what he has done for us in the past.”

Talking about the upcoming edition of the league the Indian opener said:

“We are very excited. We have some new faces and I am looking forward to meeting all of them. I would like to continue from where we left last season but to do that there are a lot of things we need to do as a team. Firstly, we need to get know each other as there are a lot of new faces in the squad, and then we see. That’s how we plan every season and we do that every season.”
