Suresh Raina revealed that after announcing retirement both MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina hugged and cried a lot. The duo announced retirement on 15th August, on Instagram. Dhoni made the first post by posting a video showing clips of his time with Team India.
Suresh Raina uploaded a picture with his CSK teammates including MS Dhoni, captioning it as, “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781. With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you, India. Jai Hind!”.
The duo shares a very close bond from Team India and CSK, where MS Dhoni has captained Suresh Raina throughout.

Suresh Raina has revealed that their retirement was planned and he knew about MS Dhoni’s retirement plan. He also told that the duo cried and hugged a lot after announcing their retirement.
“I knew Dhoni would announce his retirement upon reaching Chennai, so I was ready. I, Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar and Karn Sharma reached Ranchi on 14th with the chartered plane, and picked up Mahi bhai and Monu Singh,” Suresh Raina told Dainik Jagran.
“After announcing our retirement, we hugged and cried a lot. I, Piyush, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav and Karn sat together after that, talked about our careers and our relationship. We partied during the night.”

The former Indian all-rounder has revealed why Dhoni and he decided on 15th August to announce their retirement. It was India’s 74th year of Independence and Dhoni’s jersey was 7 while Raina’s jersey was 3. So the two decided that it was a good occasion to hang up their boots together.
Raina and MS Dhoni will be seen in action in the IPLfor CSK starting September 19th. They have joined the six-day training camp at Chennai and will be leaving for the UAE on 21 August with the team. The duo won IPL three occasions already with CSK and will be challenging for the fourth title in the 13th edition of the IPL this year
