Virat Kohli the new leader of the Indian Cricket team has had his issues on and off the field and ex Indian captain Bishan Singh Bedi made it clear that the country needs a coach strong enough to take care of the temperament of the newly appointed captain.
The left arm spinner said that Kohli though is superstar needs to have good temperament to play the game for a long time in his career and said that he will need a coach who will guide him and work on his temperament. Bedi who is very frank in interviews criticized the press for highlighting every aspect of Kohli’s life and suggested Kohli to be careful in his movement as even the slightest things like holding a spoon in the wrong hand is made an issue of.
Bedi could not give a name to the coach who he wants but said that the way people look at a player is different and that Ravi and Ganguly do not look at Kohli the way Dravid and Sachin would.
Speaking about Harbhajan Singh and his inclusion in the team, Bedi said that picking a veteran for a tour was because of the IPL does not allow spinners to showcase their talent. He added that the IPL should not be a benchmark and that all youngsters must try to be consistent in the domestic circuit to be successful internationally.
