2011 World Cup winner S Sreesanth believes that home team India will take revenge on New Zealand for the 2019 ODI World Cup by beating them in the final of the forthcoming World Cup in India. The Rohit Sharma-led team will start as one of the favourites to win the title in the upcoming marquee event.
In the 2019 World Cup semifinal match against New Zealand, The Men in Blue after having a good tournament in the league stage went down to a spirited bowling performance by New Zealand as the Indian top order was blown away by the New Zealand seamers.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, S Sreesanth feels that India and New Zealand will make it into the finals of the ODI World Cup in India and wants the Indian team to emulate the performance in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.
“I feel it will be India and New Zealand in the final. We will take revenge for the 2019 World Cup and hopefully do something similar to the 50-all-out against Sri Lanka. I am pretty positive and as Indian fans everyone should think about India winning,” S Sreesanth said.
In the 2019 World Cup, The Indian team relied heavily on their top three batters and their failure in this match had a detrimental impact on the performance of the middle order, as they failed to step up for the team in the crucial moment of the game and the Rohit Sharma-led side will look to rectify their mistake in the ODI World Cup in the home soil.
Kuldeep Yadav Will Bowl The Best Spell Ever Seen By An Indian Spinner – S Sreesanth
Sreesanth thinks Hardik Pandya is a serious contender for the Player of the Series award at the 2023 ODI World Cup. He also highlighted Kuldeep Yadav as a contender for the award based on his performance and believes that he can shatter many records in the marquee event.
“Yuvi Paaji did it for us so if you look at the Man of the Series award and if you think an all-rounder should do it then Hardik Pandya could be close to that award. He will be important for India. Kuldeep Yadav can also win it or be among the top three contenders if he keeps shattering records in the World Cup,” he added.
“Don’t forget Hardik’s fastest hundred. Don’t forget Bumrah’s two five-wicket hauls. Kuldeep Yadav will bowl the best spell ever seen by an Indian spinner,” S Sreesanth added.
Hardik Pandya balances the Indian team perfectly and his form with both bat and ball and his role will be crucial for the Indian team going into the important World Cup, while Kuldeep Yadav has impressed everyone with his wicket-taking ability in the middle overs of the game.
