West Indies is set to play defending T20 champions England for 3 ODIs and 5 T20s in India in December post-ODI World Cup 2023. Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced the full match schedule for the West Indies Men’s 2023 International Home Series against England in December 2023.
England’s white-ball team under Jos Buttler will take on Men in Maroon right after ODI World Cup to kick-start their preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup which will be hosted by West Indies and the USA. It will be interesting to see whether England travels with a full-strength squad as they are scheduled to play India in a high-octane five-match Test series starting in January.
The tour will begin with three-match ODI series starting in Antigua on December 3 followed by the all-important five-match T20 series starting in Barbados, with the final two T20 matches being played in famous Trinidad to end the tour. Speaking on England’s visit to the West Indies,
“We are delighted to be able to confirm the England match schedule and to welcome once again their many travelling fans to the region for a pre-Christmas white-ball tour. This tour will be a major economic boost to the host countries, as well as providing our fans with the chance to see some of their favourite players in action against one of our biggest rivals,” CWI’s Chief Executive Johnny Grave said.

Johnny Grave believes that this tour will be an important economic boost for the West Indies and said that it will help them to prepare better for the high-octane T20 World Cup as West Indies will look to stage a comeback after failing to qualify for the Super 12 stage in 2022 T20 World Cup.
“The tour will also help with our ongoing venue preparation and event planning for one of the biggest events ever to be staged in the region, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which takes place in June next year,” he added.
India will also visit the Caribbean this year with dates expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
