West Indies Vs India 2017 – Video – MS Dhoni Takes A Smart Catch

The ever reliable gloves of MS Dhoni are a delight for any bowler, as often, with Dhoni behind the stumps, even unlikely half chances can be converted into wickets. The former Indian skipper did just that in the ongoing fourth ODI against West Indies on a sunny Sunday morning at Antigua. With India bowling first this time around, needing wickets regularly stood imperative to the planning of the men in blue.
A key moment in the first innings came during the 35th over, just when the stand between Shai Hope and Jason Mohammed was developing. Hope has so far been West Indies’ best batsman of the series so far and has looked patient in all his outings. However, there has been just one glitch in Hope’s batting, and that has been against the short ball.
That was witnessed in the third ODI as well, as he struggled against the short pitched stuff from Hardik Pandya. This time around as well, Pandya efficiently set up the settled batsman with an array of short-pitched deliveries.
With a flurry of bouncers directed his way from Pandya, Hope was clearly looking unsettled and not in his zone. Seeing this, the Indian all-rounder pitched one up, which was unexpected to the right-handed batsman.
Hope, not being in a proper position, looked to run the ball down to the third man, only to get a faint edge. The edge was galloped with ease by MS Dhoni, as he dived to his right to complete the catch. Check out the video of Dhoni’s smart glovework below.
