West Indies vs Pakistan : 1st Test : Preview : Final Send off For The Two Legends, Younis and Misbah

With just 23 runs short of his big milestone of touching 10,000 runs in Test cricket and get in the elite club, Pakistani batsman Younis Khan will be looking to touch that mark in the first test starting on Friday in Kingston, Jamaica.

On the other hand, Misbah ul Haq is 49 runs short of completing 5000 runs mark in Test cricket. Misbah ul Haq and Younis Khan both will be playing their last international series for Pakistan. Younis khan expressed his desire to be remembered as a team player he said,

“When I am retired and when I am not in the dressing room, I want youngsters to remember me as a role model, I want them to remember me as a player and batsman who always played for his country”

West Indies opener Kieron Powell will be making his comeback after a little gap. West Indies have also included Simon Hetmyer and Vishaul Singh as well in the squad.

Pakistan will also be trying some new faces in their squad, along with Shadab Khan they have called up Usman Salahuddin, Md Ashghar and Mohammad Abbas in for test series.

More of the spotlight in this series will be on Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq. Misbah ul Haq failed miserably in the series against Australia and New Zealand, he will be eyeing to finish off on a higher note in this series. In last 10 test matches, Misbah is yet to touch century mark.

West Indies on stats has upper hand against Pakistan on West Indian soil, but with this West Indies setup; stats will not matter. In the warm-up game against Pakistan, West Indies President’s XI dominated this full strength Pakistan squad.
