Then peer, now a coach

With young stars like Sanju Samson, Ajinkya Rahane, and Steve Smith  were in his team’s rank he mentored them  to be a more technically equipped batsman. These three batsmen who are well established in IPL T20 and the latter duo Rahane and Smith have stamped their authority in Test cricket.

Unlike other veteran coaches Rahul loves to be a friend of players that help him to know what his players are thinking about their approach to the game. This approach eases his job to mould them a batter player both mentally, technically and physically with his expertise.

Dravid retired in 2012 was a peer of many youngsters now he is their coach. He has played with most of the youngsters who have become stars among the next generation of cricketers. Rahul uses this privilege during coaching them.

Under his coaching, Rajasthan Royals did not win IPL and India U-19 colts lost the final but it does not mean he did not taste success. His success relies upon how his players play after being trained under his guidance.
