Legendary Wasim Akram has rubbished the recent rumors of a rift between Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni and star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja. The rumors first surfaced last year when CSK endured a tough season.

After Jadeja gave up captaincy midway through the season and an injury ended his campaign earlier this expected, reports suggested that not all was well between the allrounder and Dhoni. There were also reports suggesting that Jadeja might leave Chennai Super Kings before IPL 2023.

However, Jadeja quashed the rumors by continuing with the franchise. But the rift rumors surfaced once again after he and Dhoni were spotted having a heated argument after the game against Delhi Capitals. Jadeja only added fuel to fire by posting a couple of cryptic tweets. But just like the last time, Jadeja ended the rumors this time too by dedicating the IPL trophy to Dhoni after hitting the winning runs against Gujarat Titans.

“We did it for ONE and ONLY “MS DHONI. mahi bhai aapke liye toh kuch bhi,” Jadeja wrote on Instagram.

Wasim Akram on MS Dhoni-Ravindra Jadeja rift rumors:

Wasim Akram has now weighed in with his views on the much-talked about rift between Dhoni and Jadeja. The former Pakistan pacer not only quashed the rumors but also opined that there is no substance behind the same. Speaking to Sportskeeda, the legendary pacer said that Dhoni has always supported Jadeja.

“In today’s age of social media, someone sits at home, writes a news and it becomes viral. I don’t know for how many years Jadeja has been playing for CSK. Dhoni has been backing and giving him confidence. He has been captaining Jadeja for so many years. Why will Jadeja have a rift with him?

“Knowing Dhoni, if he has a problem, he will speak to Jadeja and sort things out. Jadeja also admitted that the backing of his captain was behind his performances. This is called leading from the front. Both of them deserve praise,” said Wasim Akram.
