IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals has made it pretty clear that it won’t tolerate any unfair actions which bring the dispute to the game. It further added that they would wait for further instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) before taking a call on their skipper Steve Smith. The Aussie skipper was handed a one-match ban following his role in ball tampering scandal.
“We have been made aware of the controversy of ball tampering in ongoing Australia – South Africa series and await further instructions from BCCI before we make any announcement,” Executive Chairman of Rajasthan Royals Ranjit Barthakur was quoted as saying in a statement. “We at Rajasthan Royals will not tolerate any actions that are unfair by definition and bring disrepute to the game of cricket. Our Zero tolerance policy applies to everyone in our team. Please bear with us,” he added.

The Aussie skipper was also fined 100% of the match fees after he admitted to tampering the ball. He was removed from captaincy for the 3rd Test so as his deputy David Warner. Tim Paine was made the acting captain for the 3rd Test. He admitted that the leadership group discussed tampering the ball during the lunch interval.
Australian players were taken aback when Smith was removed from captaincy. He had initially refused to quit captaincy but was forced to step down. Aussie opener Cameron Bancroft was caught on camera trying to change the condition of the ball with yellow sticky tape. It was done during the post-lunch session. Bancroft was also seen hiding the material in his trousers.
