Windies Announces Unchanged Squad for Zimbabwe Tests 1

Windies Cricket Board has announced an unchanged squad for the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe in the African nation.

The two-time world champions had suffered a massive blow after failing to secure a direct qualification to the 2019 World Cup.

However, despite losing 4-0 in the ODI series, the team can take a lot of positives from the Test series against England as they managed to win a test game. The same squad that played the Test series against England will now be heading to Zimbabwe to play in a two-Test match series.

“The dedication, commitment and focus in their preparation and during the series in England showed immense character for such a young team in very difficult conditions against world-class competition,” said Courtney Browne, chairman of the Cricket West Indies selection panel.

“The lessons learnt on that tour augurs well for the individual players and the team’s continued development as a whole, and we wish them well on the Tour of Zimbabwe.”

The Windies team will first play a three-game tour game followed two Test matches. It remains to be seen if the young team can once again prove their mettle in Zimbabwe. Shai Hope has been the key player for Windies batting, and the youngster will also be hopeful, to replicate his stellar performances once again.
