Windies Appoint Nic Pothas As Interim Head Coach
Windies have appointed Nic Pothas as their interim coach for the ongoing tour of Bangladesh. He has replaced Stuart Law whose stint with the Windies ended following the tour of India.
Law decided to leave his position as the head coach of the Windies unit after agreeing to a four-year deal with the English County Middlesex.

Law took charge of the West Indies team in January last year. Under his guidance, Windies’ fortunes improved in Tests. Under Law, the Windies won Test series against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. They also won their first Test in England in 17 years when they chased down 322 at Headingley last year.
The two-time world champions also qualified for next year’s World Cup after finishing this year’s Qualifiers as runners-up. They, however, failed to qualify for the Champions Trophy.

Overall, he oversaw West Indies across 34 Tests, nine of which ending in victories, and 19 T20Is with eight wins.
Pothas, on the other hand, took over as Windies’ fielding coach earlier this year. Prior to that, he had served as Sri Lanka’s interim coach.
Jimmy Adams, the director of Windies Cricket, hoped that the side would continue to make steady progress under Pothas’s tenure.
“Having Nic lead the team at this juncture is important for continuity and we look forward to strong and positive performances from the squad under his leadership,” Adams said.
