ALVIN KALLICHARRAN
A left-handed batsman and right-arm off spinner, Kallicharran was known for his elegant, watchful batting style. Although he departed early on the mega final, Kallicharran was pivotal for his side reaching the finals of the 1975 World Cup final.
He was more of a successful batsman in the Test format but impressed in the limited ODI matches he played. Presently, Kallicharran lives in Northolt, England and is involved in coaching cricket among youth around the country. He was awarded the British Empire Medal in the 2019 New Year’s Honours List for services to cricket and charity.
