CLIVE LLYOD (C)

A tall cricketer with a large moustache and thick glass, Clive Lloyd was pivotal for the rise of Windies cricket. He was detrimental to Windies lifting the first Prudential World Cup in 1975. He played a match-winning knock of 102 runs from 85 balls sharing a massive stand to Rohan Kanhai to help the Caribbeans post a challenging total on the board.
Lloyd also led the side brilliantly thus helping his team lifting the title and eventually led his side in 1979 World Cup as well. After his retirement, although Lloyd has worked as a civil servant for Guyana Ministry of Health, he has remained involved in cricket. He has coached and commentated on the game, as well as managing the Guyana team.
A promising career as ICC Match Official (he officiated in both semi-final and final of the 1996 World Cup) was put on hold to take on the management of the Windies team after their disappointments in the World Cup. He had a horrific time and resigned from the post after three years in 1999.
In 2008 Lloyd took over the role of the chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee after Sunil Gavaskar stepped down. Recently, he was in England on an event to celebrate 100 days to the ICC World Cup 2019.
