VIV RICHARDS

Viv Richards, who went on to became the most destructive ODI batsman, made his debut in this tournament against Sri Lanka. However, he didn’t had to bat as his notched up a nine-wicket win in that game. Richards, who was new to the international circuit couldn’t impress in that very World Cup.
In the years to follow, he dominated the World Cup giving trouble to all the top-notch bowlers around the world. In December 2002, Wisden chose Richards as the greatest ODI batsman of all time. After his retirement from cricket, the 63-year-old often appears as a commentator in various games.
He also worked as a mentor for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League in 2013. Along with it, he also worked with the Quetta Gladiators for the last three season in the Pakistan Super League.
