KEITH BOYCE

Although Keith Boyce represented Windies in a handful of games, he was a crucial member of the side. His ability to chip in both the departments made him a standout performer in that squad led by Clive Lloyd.
An all-rounder in true nature, Boyce played a crucial hand of 34 runs before bagging four wickets to skittle the Australian batting. He returned with figures of four for 50 in his 12 overs. However, Boyce only played eight ODIs and 21 Test matches for the Caribbean Island and was a well-known cricketer in the County circuit. In 1974, he was chosen as one of the Wisden Cricketer of the Year.
Incidentally, he died from the effects of chronic cirrhosis of the liver, while sitting in a chair at a pharmacist’s in Speightstown, Barbados, on his birthday on October 11, 1996.
