Picking all-time XI’s has become a trend in the modern generation. Now it was time for former Windies speedster, Fidel Edwards to pick his all-time XI.
His team is loaded with some of the superstars of the game. The playing XI was picked in consideration with the players Edwards has played with or the players who have influenced him during his lifetime.
Openers in Fidel Edward’s team will be Chris Gayle and Matthew Hayden. Both were two of the most destructive batsmen the game has seen. Gayle is a T20 legend and also boasts of a couple of triple centuries in Test cricket. Hayden, on the other hand, is also one of the finest openers of all time. He held the record for the highest individual score in Tests for a short while.
Tendulkar and Lara in the middle order

Surprisingly Tendulkar comes on the No 3 position. The master blaster had batted the majority of his career opening in the ODIs and at number four in Tests. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest batsmen of all time. Tendulkar holds the record of scoring most runs and centuries in both Test and ODI cricket.
However, for Fidel, the number fourth was alloted to another stalwart of that generation, Brian Lara. Lara is one of the most explosive batsmen and was a terror to the opposition on his day. The two all-rounders duty has been handed over to Jacques Kallis and Gary Sobers. Kallis was the best all-rounder of his generation. Meanwhile, it will be fair to say that Sobers is the greatest all-rounder of all time.
The wicket-keeping duties have been handed over to Adam Gilchrist. He is a great wicket-keeper batsman and was the one who changed the concept of a wicket-keeper batsman in modern-day cricket.
Shane Warne is the lone spinner on the line-up. He is undoubtedly the greatest wrist spinner of all time. His record is a proof of what he has done for Australian cricket.
The Pace unit will comprise of three of the best fast bowlers who had graced the game at any point in time. Wasim Akram is the highest wicket-taker in the ODIs while Malcolm Marshall and Curtly Ambrose were two of the most dangerous bowlers during their time.
