The legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar said winning the world cup was the best moment of his life. In fact, it is well known Sachin has always put winning the World Cup in 2011 in his topmost shell of his achievements list.
Tendulkar always had a dream since he started playing as a youngster to hold the coveted trophy. Sachin Tendulkar scored more than 34,000 runs at the International level, a century of centuries and he holds many other records in his repertoire. However, he will always put winning the world cup on the top of his list.

Sachin Tendulkar has always put World Cup in his top drawer.
“That is what I lived for. That is what I started cricket for,” he described the World Cup win to Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli had perfectly described the moment of giving Sachin Tendulkar a round of honour. Kohli had said after India’s second World Cup triumph, “He’s carried the burden of the nation for 21 years so it’s time we carried him on our shoulders.”
However, Tendulkar wanted to be more cautious. The Master Blaster claimed that it was an unbelievable moment for him as well as the whole nation.
“Please don’t drop me! It was an unbelievable feeling. It was special, for the teammates to do that, it was pleasing. For me, I’ve never experienced anything like that. How many times do you have the entire country celebrating one event?
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar went on to reveal that it took them 30 minutes to reach the hotel. There were some big celebrations after the win as there was a jam-packed crowd

Celebrations were crazy.
“The celebrations were at a different level. Just from Wankhede Stadium to go to the Taj (team hotel) took us an hour-and-a-half and the distance is only 2/3km. It was jam-packed and the bus was not able to move, such was the excitement and people dancing on top of cars and celebrating. I’ve never seen India like that, it was a big moment.”
Sachin Tendulkar was one of the best batsmen ever produced. Thus, his wickets always brought extra satisfaction for the opposition team. However, Tendulkar believes that he never thought it was over when he used to get out.

“I knew I was one of the important members of the squad but never did I think that if I get out it’s all over,” he added.
“It’s always a team sport. Yes, there are key players and there are key wickets that the bowlers will pick, and I’d like to believe I was one of those batters. Other than that, I felt 2011 was for sure going to be my last World Cup, and being the senior-most player in the squad I had my role to do.”
It was a special moment for Sachin Tendulkar as well as the country to win World Cup in 2011. Tendulkar is the highest run-getter in the World Cup events and his performances reached new bars in the prestigious tournament.
