The former India skipper, MS Dhoni turned 37 today, and quite likely wishes poured in from all parts of the world since the clock ticked 12 at midnight.
Meanwhile, Dhoni is currently in England with India squad for a limited-over series. He played a pivotal with the bat on the eve of his birthday but couldn’t stop India from going down in the 2nd T20I. The Eoin Morgan-led team turned upside down, as they overhaul India’s target of 148 runs. Batting first, India went to class to 150-run mark thanks to Virat Kohli and Dhoni.
Although he started a bit slow, MSD picked the gear at the right time to finish on a high. He remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 24 deliveries including five boundaries. However, a brilliant knock from Alex Hales ensured England level back the series 1-1.
The maestro also achieved the feat of playing 500 international games after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Dhoni made his India debut back in 2004 in an ODI against Bangladesh and went on to play 500 matches since then.

Furthermore, he is the only captain in the history to win three ICC titles. He won the ICC World T20 in 2007; then he won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. To add to it, he won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
While Dhoni is still a part of the limited-overs side, he retired from Tests in 2014.
Meanwhile, on this auspicious occasion, wishes poured from all fields for the most illustrious captain in Indian cricketing history. Many wrote about being their inspiration while other wished him luck for the future.
