Virender Sehwag’s wit is as sharp as his cut shots past point.

The former India opener was in a playful mood as he dedicated a special song to  injured Shaun Marsh with his witty tweet. Apparently Viru is sad to hear that Marsh is out of IPL9 but tries to console him with a famous song from Bollywood movie Raja Hindustani – “Pardesi pardesi jaana nehi, hame chhodke, hame chhodke”. Just like an Alvida Song!

Kings XI Punjab’s Shaun Marsh is the latest cricketer in the long line of injury-hit players to be forced out of this season’s Indian Premier League. Left-handed Marsh picked a back injury in an earlier match which was aggravated during KXIP’s win against Gujarat Lions on Sunday (May 1).

Marsh is latest to suffer the unfortunate fate of leaving the competition midway. Just a few hours earlier, fellow Australians – Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh of Rising Pune Supergiants – had also been ruled out due to injury. The others to have left IPL 2016 with injury include Kevin Pietersen and Faf du Plessis, again from RPS.

KXIP have not finalised on a replacement for Marsh as yet but are likely to be looking closely at a few players on the radar. With RPS too looking to fill out the blanks left by injuries, the competition ought to be tough.

With 159 runs in six games, Marsh had played a major role in the batting unit of KXIP. His injury will come as a big blow for a team that is currently placed seventh on the points table and struggling to come to terms with the right combination.
