Elyse Perry scored an unbeaten 213, as the Southern Stars took a-168 runs lead in the first innings in reply to England’s 280 in the first innings.
The stylish all-rounder brought up her double hundred with the only six in her innings. Perry’s 213 not out is the highest Test score by an Australian Women cricketer. The Australian women have declared their first innings at 448/9. The England women’s team is currently playing at 21/0 with one more days play left, and this is a must-win contest for the English side.

Perry had never touched the triple figure mark in international cricket in any format although she has 24 ODI fifties and one Test fifty to her name before this match and this was her maiden international century.
Perry’s previous highest international score was 95 not out in an ODI against Vs South Africa in Canberra in November 2016.

The Australian team was stumbling at 13-3 when Perry came into bat, but the all-rounder single-handedly took the Southern Stars a step closer to an Ashes win, as this Test match is a must-win for the England team. Perry crossed the previous best by an Australian batswoman set by Karen Rolton against England when she scored 209* in 2001.
She behind current Indian Captain Mithali Raj who sits at second spot with 214 and Pakistan’s Kiran Baluch who has the highest score of 242 against West Indies.
