Not many rated New Zealand as favourites before the start of the tournament and the Blackcaps stood against all the odds to make it to the finals. They did not even fall short in the summit clash and in the end, it all boiled down the number of boundaries. Apart from doing wonders on captaincy front, Williamson also showed his class with the bat and scored 578 runs, coming in at situations after poor shows from the top order.
