The Australian skipper had a tough task to manage the team, especially with former captains Steve Smith and David Warner coming back and he did his job to perfection. With seven wins in nine matches, Australia finished as the second-placed team in the points table and one bad day in the office in the semi-final against England saw Australia crash out of the tournament, failing to defend their trophy. Finch though was exceptional with his captaincy.
