Mitchell Starc had a fantastic ICC World Cup in 2015 when he was adjudged as the man of the tournament for his incredible display of fast bowling. He managed to survive four more years in the game of cricket to land his feet in the ICC World Cup 2019 for Australia.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the ICC official website, the fast bowler of Australia quoted that the World Cup is the pinnacle of the ODI format of the game. He believes that winning such a big tournament will give a lot of satisfaction to the cricketers.
“In the one-day game, it’s the pinnacle, the World Cup. No matter where it is, or who’s playing. It’s the pinnacle of the game in one-day cricket,” said the 29-year-old.

The lanky fast bowler Mitchell Starc quoted that his stay with the team in the previous edition of the world cup is a special moment in his life. He explained that the tri-series ahead of the tournament is also special, where they all began their journey.
“It was such a special six weeks, it was probably longer than that for us last time around, where we grouped for such a long time. That tri-seies before the World Cup was sort of where we put our foot down to prepare for the World Cup, [and worked towards] the team we wanted to be and how we wanted to play in the World Cup coming up.”

Further, the flamboyant cricketer quoted that the world cup is something, where the individual needs to put their best cricket at the display. He added that the team should concentrate heading into the finals first before showing their ability to win the final.
“It’s going to be a great tournament,” he said. “It’s at tournament play where it shows how good a team is. You want to be playing your best cricket at the end. You want to make the finals first, but you want to keep your best cricket for the end. It’s a bit different than playing the same team in a few games [of a] series.”
On the rivalry with England:
He wants Australia to beat England in England and then went on to win the ICC World Cup in England. Mitchell Starc also wants to win the Ashes Trophy in England, which will help to shut the fans of England.
“If we can beat England in England, win a World cup in England, and then win the Ashes in England, there is not too much that an Englishman or woman can say to knock you down.
