Had anyone ever thought of a cricket stadium larger than MCG? Well, the thought has so far come into production. Motera in Ahmedabad is all set to have the world’s largest cricket stadium, which would have a seating of more than 1,00,000 people; and it will get built in 63 acres of land. Meanwhile, Gujarat Cricket Association vice-president, Parimal Nathwani, on Sunday, tweeted the pictures of the stadium, which is currently under construction.

Parimal Nathwani stated the project had been a dream for the association, and that when it gets complete, it will be a symbol of pride for the nation. As reported in ‘The Hindu’, is being designed by M/s. Populous, a renowned architect firm. Though the tender has been given to L&T, the estimated cost of the stadium is 700 crores.

Furthermore, the infrastructure inside the stadium will have three practice grounds and an indoor cricket academy as well. Also, the reports say the parking area will accommodate more than 3000 cars and 10,000 two-wheelers. Also, the world’s largest cricket stadium will have 76 corporate boxes.
There will be a concourse to connect the entire stadium for pedestrian and vehicular movement. Moreover, the club house will be equipped with 55 rooms and an Olympic size swimming pool,” Nathwani was quoted as saying in the report.

As reported, the world’s largest cricket stadium will get completed in a few years. Though a deadline hasn’t been given, thought of getting built in India would encourage the sporting setup in the country.
