Wriddhiman dreams of winning Ranji Trophy for Bengal

Despite the fact that he has already earned a lot of accolades from the cricket fraternity as well as from his team management Wriddhiman Saha is not at all overjoyed. The wicketkeeper, who has been appreciated by even the Indian team’s director Ravi Shastri for his sincerity all along his career when he started in the Test match under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has already started training alone at the Eden Gardens for the last couple of days.

And when asked about his recent achievements of delivering an excellent performance in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa, Wriddhiman, however, seems nonchalant. Rather he revealed that he has been nursing another rare dream for a long time. That is winning Ranji Trophy once again for Bengal team. Bengal won the desired Ranji Trophy for the last time in 1990. Wriddhiman said, “It will be an incredible feeling for all of our generation cricketers if we can win the coveted Ranji Trophy once again. And that has been my dream for a long time.”

Commenting on his own performance, the wicketkeeper analyzed saying, “I should have been more consistent with bat although I had a satisfactory show on the controversial Nagpur wicket against South Africa.  Secondly, I have not yet been the member of winning squad of either Bengal or with Kings Eleven Punjab in the IPL. I regret that.”

He also quipped saying, “I want to show more consistency in my forthcoming engagements and want to fulfill my dream of bringing Ranji Trophy for Bengal.”
