Wriddhiman Saha May Replace Rishabh Pant In Test Series Against South Africa: Reports

Rishabh Pant, the young wicketkeeper-batsman, is now under pressure because he has given a continuous low performance. He is the replacement of MS Dhoni and has the pressure to perform like the former skipper. Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri, as per reports, are finding a new replacement of Rishabh pant and Wriddhiman Saha can be one of them.

Pant is a satisfactory wicketkeeper but not proving himself through the bat. In the Test squad against South Africa, both Wriddhiman Saha and Pant are included. Now it will be interesting to see who will be in the playing XI. A source said that Wriddhiman Saha might be given chance in Test series against South Africa.

The source said to TOI, “The selectors are in a mood to give one final chance to Pant in the first Test, but the team management (coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli) want Saha to play from the start of the series itself.”

Rishabh Pant is ready to give his best performance in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy

Pant has given a stunning and power-packed performance in domestic Cricket but he is not able to deliver the same in international cricket. He has decided to go back in domestic cricket as he is playing in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. This will give the confidence to 21-year-old. He is the only Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score two Test centuries outside Asia. But the player has now out of form and need motivation.

“The problem is, Pant’s lack of success with the bat is hurting his confidence while keeping wickets too. His DRS reviews aren’t great. In Indian conditions, on turning wickets, he may struggle. Saha is a far better ‘keeper than him, and get a few useful runs lower down the order too,” the source stated.

Wriddhiman Saha is also an experienced player after his recovery from the injury he has played well. He has scored 1164 runs in 32 Test matches played for India. He has played 111 first-class matches and 101 List A matches.
