Wriddhiman Saha has become the first priority for the wicketkeeper role in Test matches. Saha is about to break the record of former Indian captain MS Dhoni in India vs Bangladesh series.
After registering the victory in T20I series, India is currently preparing for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The first match will be played in Indore where it is expected that Wriddhiman Saha will surpass the record of MS Dhoni‘s wicketkeeping. MS Dhoni has the record of most dismissals as a wicketkeeper in the Test match history between India and Bangladesh. He tops the list with involving in 15 dismissals in three Test matches.

At the present time, Wriddhiman Saha has seven dismissals in two Tests against Bangladesh. Saha managed to make four dismissals in a Test played in 2017 against Bangladesh played at Hyderabad. He maintains the No.5 position in the latest list.
Most dismissals made by a wicketkeeper in India-Bangladesh Tests
| Wicketkeeper | Total dismissals | catches | stumping |
| MS Dhoni | 15 | 12 | 3 |
| Dinesh Karthik | 12 | 11 | 1 |
| Mushfiqure Rahim | 11 | 9 | 2 |
| Khaled Mashud | 8 | 5 | 3 |
| Wriddhiman Saha | 7 | 5 | 2 |
If Wriddhiman Shah makes nine more dismissals in the upcoming Test series, he will surpass the record of MS Dhoni. Dhoni managed to make 15 dismissals in three Tests against Bangladesh. Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim is also very close to cross the mark of MS Dhoni but the player has announced that he will give up wicketkeeping to manage his workload.

Wriddhiman Saha replaces Rishabh Pant

We saw the wonder of Wriddhiman Saha in the recent Test matches against South Africa. His unbelievable catching stunt on the ball of Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin left everyone in praise of the player. In the South Africa series, he dismissed 12 Proteas batsmen including 11 catches and a stumping.
His recent performances in Test matches may lead him to replace Rishabh Pant permanently who is now and then criticised for his wrong moves.
