Indian ace pacer Mohammed Shami was not impressed by the third umpire’s decision on Shubman Gill’s dismissal in the 2nd innings of the World Test Championship final, which sparked a wide range of debate with man experts and fans divided by their opinion on the call made by the third umpire.
Shubman Gill found an outside edge of Scott Boland’s bowling after being well-settled alongside Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma, as he was caught on the slips by the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green on the over just before the Tea, as the Indian team management looked visibly upset on the decision made by the umpires in the middle, as the youngster looked well settled in a record chase for the Indian team.
Speaking to the media after the end of day 4, Mohammed Shami feels that the third umpire should have looked at a few more angles and pictures before making his call on the dismissal, as he feels that it is important to make the right decision in a game like World Test Championship final and also admitted that it was part and parcel as the team could not look too much into it.
“Yes, one could have taken some time, it’s the World Test Championship final, not a normal match that you let go. It should have been checked better, zoomed in, but it is okay, it is part of the game.

“Nothing much. This is part of the game. The umpires take a call. So, it is part of the game. We don’t think too much. Let’s see tomorrow what happens,” Mohammed Shami said.
Shubman Gill was extremely disappointed with the decision made by the third umpire, as he walked out to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs. After the completion of the fourth day’s play, the Indian youngster took to his social media account to post a cryptic tweet about the decision of the umpire.
We Always Come Together To Win This Match – Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami is confident about India’s chances in the final day to chase a mammoth total against a formidable Australian bowling attack, as he said that everyone in the team believes to chase down the total in the ultimate game of test cricket, as the Indian team will have experienced Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane batting in the middle.

“100 percent everyone believes that tomorrow we will win the match. Because we have always fought. We perform well around the world. Not here only. So, we believe and we always come together to win this match,” Mohammed Shami added.
At the end of Day 4, India was 164/3 at stumps as the Rohit Sharma-led side will require 280 runs to chase down their maiden World Test Championship final in Kennington, Oval.
