Cricket fans will have a chance to see World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar John Cena wielding a cricket bat once again as Javed Afridi, owner of Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi, on Saturday (December 2) said that the wrestler would soon bat for Peshawar Zalmi foundation.
Earlier this week, Cena had got the cricket fans excited after he tried his hand at cricket while taking part in a friendly game with former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson, who is set to represent Sydney Thunder in the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) in December.
Read some #Ferdinand, played some Cricket (poorly) and had a great time the past few days in Sydney until the teacher took attendance in class and I was marked absent… U?C??♂️ pic.twitter.com/stIOqDeKoW

The 16-time WWE World Champion was in Australia to promote his upcoming animated feature film ‘Ferdinand’ and fully capitalised on the opportunity to learn the game. And he will have a chance to polish his cricketing skills further as Javed Afridi is hopeful of seeing the star holding the bat for his foundation.
“Soon a bat for @PeshawarZalmi @ Foundation too from @JohnCena !” wrote Afridi in reply to Cena’s tweet where he shared his experience in Australia.
