I Would’ve Been Happier if India Had Won the U19 World Cup: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Father

In South Africa, India U19 was defeated by Bangladesh U19 in the thrilling finale of the ICC U-19 World Cup 2020 at Sewens Park in Potchefstroom. The young Tigers created history as they lifted the maiden ICC U19 World Cup trophy. Although India lost the finals, Yashasvi Jaiswal was awarded as the Man of the tournament. It was a special moment for Indian opener while his proud father Bhupendra Jaiswal said that he would have been happiest person if India had lifted the trophy.

On Sunday (9 February), India got derailed with the bowling attack of opposition. Well, Jaiswal was the only man to stand for the team. But soon he was sent back to the pavilion. Indian opener scored 88 runs that included eight fours and one maximum. With his knock in finals, he became the second-highest scorer for India in the event.

In the nail-biting clash, Yashasvi was not only the highest scorer for the team but he also picked a crucial wicket of the set batsman Parvez Hossain Emon. He was also prolific as a fielder.

However, his all-round contribution could not help India to defend a revised target of 170 runs (DLS Method).

Meanwhile, Akbar Ali-led Bangladesh created history after defeating the defending champions in the ICC U19 World Cup 2020.

The skipper remained unbeaten to register glory for his side.
