Following India’s humiliating defeat against Australia in the World Test Championship final, Indian selectors and the team management would look to bring some massive changes in the team, as they would try to instil some fresh faces in the team for all three formats of the game.
The Indian players will have a rest for over a month after the conclusion of the World Test Championship final, as their next assignment will be on Caribbean soil. Team India is scheduled to play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 5 T20Is against the West Indies starting on July 12.
According to PTI, Shiv Sunder Das-led selection committee and Rahul Dravid would take some tough calls going into the next World Test Championship cycle, as places of Indian veterans Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav might fall under the scanner in the upcoming series.
“You need to strike a balance. Selection is a process of elimination but you need that blend of youth and experience. The idea should be long-term and you have to look at two- year cycle now”.

Former Indian selector Devang Gandhi believes that Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal is ready for the International scenes, as he performed exceptionally well in domestic cricket, and reckons that the youngster has got a solid temperament in his batting, as he can be groomed to grow in the Indian colours.
“I believe Yashasvi Jaiswal is ready for international cricket. He has scored double hundreds in Ranji, Irani, and Duleep Trophy. Looks solid in terms of temperament and could be groomed while being given enough chances to grow.”
In 15 matches in first-class cricket, Jaiswal has amassed 1845 runs at an average of 80.31, apart from scores of 213 and 144 in the Irani Cup against Madhya Pradesh. The Left-handed youngster did reasonably well in this year’s Ranji Trophy as he amassed 315 runs for Mumbai at an average of 45.00.
According to the PTI reports, top performers in this edition of the Indian Premier League are likely to get a call-up for the Indian side for the 5-match T20 series, as Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad are set to get an opportunity alongside comeback Mohit Sharma for the shorter format of the game.

With the Indian team trying to move out from the seniors after the conclusion of the 2022 T20 World Cup, with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, KL Rahul, and Dinesh Karthik being snubbed from the team following the heartbreaking defeat against England in the semifinals.
The youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, and Tilak Varma have done exceptionally well for their side in the recently concluded Indian Premier League and will look to prove their worth for the Men in Blue in the highest level, as the Indian team will look to groom these youngsters for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
