Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi raised his concern regarding the conduct of Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur during the third ODI against Bangladesh. The Indian skipper hit the stumps with her bat after being given adjusted LBW and also had a go at the umpires on her way to the dressing room.
The incident took place in the 34th over of the Indian innings against Bangladesh when Harmanpreet Kaur tried to sweep the leg-spinner, where she was straightaway given out, which led to her frustration on the field as she straightaway indicated that the bat was involved on her way to the pavilion.
Speaking on Samaa Tv, Shahid Afridi lambasted the Indian skipper over her behaviour on the field, as he stated that these kinds of things are bound to happen in cricket but her conduct on the field is way too high and believes that the right punishment should be given as it would set an example for others in the future and wants controlled aggression in the field.

“This is not just India. We’ve seen these things in the past as well. Although, we don’t see this often in women’s cricket. This was way too much, it was a big event under ICC. With the punishment, you set an example for the future. You can get aggressive in cricket; controlled aggression is good, but this was a bit too much,” Shahid Afridi said.
The Indian skipper was seen chatting animatedly with the umpire as she left the field, and she openly blasted the umpiring at the post-match awards ceremony, calling it “pathetic.” and also had to go at the Bangladesh team over the incident.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s behaviour in the field was not well received by many fans and experts, as they demand some sort of punishment for her on-field activity which would set to bad example for young players all around the globe.

According to reports, the Indian captain is set to be fined 75% of her match fees and will earn 4 demerit points as well. This also means Harmanpreet is at risk of missing the first two games of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
There was no DRS for the entire India’s tour of Bangladesh, which included three Twenty20 Internationals and as many ODIs which is also a reason behind the outburst of the Indian skipper, as the umpires call in the third ODI tilted the series in the favour of the host Bangladesh team.
