Rising star of Indian cricket Shubman Gill hold a record of 351 runs, he scored in an age group cricket. Meanwhile, Shubman will represent Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming Indian Premier League.

The right-handed batsman rose to fame during India’s successful campaign in the ICC U19 World Cup. He scored tons of runs as India lifted the coveted trophy for the fourth time. Also, he won the player of the tournament award for his outstanding show.

Gill has played a lot of age group cricket before his India selection. In 2014, he smacked 351 in Punjab’s Inter-District Under-16 tournament and shared a record opening stand of 587 with Nirmal Singh. Meanwhile, this is the highest run scored in the U16 district level.

On his Under-16 state debut for Punjab, he made an unbeaten double-century in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. Later that year, he went on to share the stage with his idol Virat Kohli while receiving a BCCI award for the best junior cricketer, which he won for two successive years: 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The swashbuckling made an immediate impact scoring 351 runs in four innings during the Youth ODI series at home against England. He also became the highest scorer for India when India toured to England. He amassed 278 runs in four innings during his first tour to England.

The right-handed Gill also averages more than 60 in the first-class cricket.

Meanwhile, KKR roped in Gill’s service for Rs 1.8 crore. Gill will like to make a mark immediately if he gets an opportunity.

Kolkata will play their first game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 8 at Eden Gardens.
