“Even if Younis Khan scores a century in every inning of every test against the West Indies, he will still retire from Test Cricket,” Younis said in a video which was shared on his Twitter handle.

In a video message, Younis stated there is no truth regarding his return as he has put on clear deliberation for his retirement plans.

“I have retired by my own wishes, with honour, in the right manner and according to a plan. There is no truth to this,” Younis added.

While quashing the rumours which has hinted the 39-year-old right-handed batsman Younis could rethink over his retirement decision if the team requires his services adding, it has been turned into a huge controversy after Australian media reported about his wish to continue playing Test cricket.

“A lot of things are being said regarding my retirement from Test cricket… that perhaps Younis Khan wants to continue playing cricket,” Younis said.

Younis further went on to say, he would not like to go into the details of recent remarks [in an interview] which pushed him to clear the air from Jamaica.

“I was asked for the response I gave and the version that was brought before you,” Younis asserted.

Younis also stated he is a ‘Pakistani’ and plays for Pakistan not for its neighbouring country India.

“Don’t doubt my credibility. What I said and how was my statement presented, I do not want to go into details. My retirement plan was a well thought out one and I standby it”, Younis remarked.

Earlier, Misbah has also announced that he will hang his boots alongside Younis Khan after the ongoing three-match Test series against the West Indies.

The Mardan-born middle-order batsman Younis further requested national team fans to wish their team — to script history on the shores of Windies by winning the Test series.

Interestingly, Younis is 23 runs short to reach 10,000-run – to become first Pakistan player to register the milestone in Test format.

“We are looking forward to win Test series in the West Indies after a long time,” Younis concluded while requesting his fans to pray for him.

Younis, who led Pakistan to a title win in 2009 Twenty20 World Cup, has played 115 Tests for Pakistan in which he has scored 9,977 runs at an average of 53.06. He has smashed 34 hundred and 32 fifties.
