Younis Khan eyes World Cup spot 1

Pakistan batsman Younis Khan is hoping to play in the World Cup 2015 after scoring twin centuries against Australia in the first test at Dubai which resulted in Pakistan winning the match by 221 runs.

Younis Khan quoted:
“After scoring these hundreds against Australia, it has rekindled hope in me that I can play in the World Cup because that is what I want to do.”
Earlier, Younis was dropped from the ODI series against Australia last month which left him very furious due to which he lashed out at the PCB and the selectors for not showing respect to the senior players. He returned to the ODI squad after 18 months and was dropped after playing a lone ODI against Sri Lanka.
He said that ,”When I joined the team for the test series in Dubai, I told myself that the past is past and I just have to focus on doing well and proving myself again.”  He also said that, “Youth is good for any team but age shouldn’t be a bar. No matter what age a player is if he is fit and can deliver then he should be considered for the World Cup.”
I think Younis Khan is right in saying this because age is just a number and if the batsman can give his 100% at any age, he should always be included in the plans for major tours and especially the major tournaments. According to me, Younis Khan is still the best batsman in the current Pakistan batting lineup and he should be included for the World Cup if Pakistan are to show some serious fight.
