Younis Khan May Take Up A Position In PCB After Ramiz Raja-Aaqib Javed Meeting
A couple of days ago, an important meeting was held between former fast bowler Aaqib Javed and PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja. The former told the PCB chief to concentrate on the grass-root level to improve Pakistani cricket.
Aaqib Javed reportedly advised him to focus on cricket academies, adding that they were particularly important in strengthening cricket in the country. However, sources said that Aaqib Javed is hesitant to join the PCB and feels he is better off with the Lahore Qalandars.

As former Test cricketer, Aaqib Javed is reluctant to join Pakistan cricket, former captain Younis Khan is preparing for another entry in the PCB. The leading runs getter for Pakistan in Test cricket Younis Khan parted way with the Pakistan team as the batting coach earlier this year.
The former batsman resigned from the top job on June 22 even though he was roped in by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a two-year contract, which would’ve come to a conclusion after the 2022 T20 World Cup. Younis Khan is the only Pakistan player to score 10,000+ Test runs and Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in Test cricket with the most centuries. He is also the only player to score Test hundreds in all 11 countries. He announced his ODI retirement in November 2015 after having announced his T20I retirement in 2009.
Saqlain Mushtaq Likely As Pakistan’s Head Coach
Former Pakistan bowler Saqlain Mushtaq will most likely be appointed head coach for the national team for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup. The 44-year-old is currently serving as the head of the International Player Development at the National High-Performance Centre in Lahore.

The PCB has already appointed former Australia batsman Matthew Hayden and former South Africa pacer Vernon Philander as consultants for the T20 World Cup.
