Youth Stabbed To Death Over Onfield Cricket Feud 1
A 14-year-old boy was killed while fielding in Bangladesh after a stump hit his neck.

Sport can be cruel at times as it makes people go beyond their emotions to do the unwanted in the heat of the moment as it has resulted in a number of deaths in the past few years.

The latest incident took place in the city of Vijayawada of Andhra Pradesh, when a couple of young blokes took on each other which resulted in a murder.

In an unfortunate incident at Telecom Colony of Mahatma Gandhi Road last evening, according to police, engineering student Kiran Kumar was playing street cricket and has been batting before he hit a woman walking by the cricket field apparently named Devaki Devi accidentally.

However, things turned out violent when her son P. Srikanth entered the scene as the duo has been on a riff over the past few months. Kiran has often complained about Srikanth over his rash bike driving in the colony and the feud has grew since then.

In the heat of the moment, Srikanth lost his cool and went back to his residence to be back with a knife and stabbed Kiran in the chest until he was dead, according to reports from IANS.

In a separate incident that took place in Bangladesh, another 16-year old was dead as he was stuck with the stump on his neck and head.

“The batsman was furious when he saw that he was stumped or bowled out. He grabbed a stump and threw it in the air. The stump hit part of the neck and head of Faisal who was fielding close to the wicket,” said a fielder who witnessed the incident first hand.

Cricket can be an entertainer but it should never be a killer at any level as the game is to enjoy. Despite all the incidents, a player should control his emotion before doing unwanted things and ruining their lives and that of others. We sincerely pray that such instances can never happen again in the beautiful game.
